Curra

Curra is a village and rural/residential locality on the Bruce Highway, 17 km north-west of Gympie. It is also on the North Coast railway (1881).

The Curra primary school was opened in 1893, but the locality seems to have been sparsely populated. The post office directory in 1911 recorded just seven farmers, a grazier, a sawmill and the one-teacher school. Farmers later concentrated on dairying.
